SBA Microloans
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) uses its Microloan Program to loan money to nonprofit lenders who then provide small business loans to startups and small businesses.
SBA-backed microloans feature:
- Loan Amount: up to $50,000
- Interest Rate: negotiated between borrower and lender, up to SBA’s maximum.
- Terms: negotiated by the lender, no penalties for early payoff.

Open to Business
Open to Business provides free, confidential business counseling to current and prospective entrepreneurs. Open to Business consultants work with you as a small business owner to access the technical assistance and financing options needed to succeed. They provide on-site business advising throughout the Twin Cities region.
